Evaluation - Question 6
practice filming from Luke Samson-Hill on Vimeo.
I think our camera angles/shots and our editing have come a long way since we shot our practise filming, looking back on it, it doesn’t look very good and I am glad we stuck with it and put more effort in because I am really happy with our final opening sequence.

Costumes
Costumes are very important so we decided to put alot of effort into the appearence to our characters to make the opening sequence as realistic and convincing as possible. Part of our questionairre asked questions about costumes and the answers we recieved supported what we thought and gave us a vague costume to work from. This costume consisted of - Trackies, Flat Peak Caps, Hoodies and Trainers.
We decided that becuase our opnion about what the actors should wear was also supported by the people who did the questionairre, that we should definitely dress the actors in a very particular style of clothing to make the film more realistic.

Audience Feedback
opinions from Luke Samson-Hill on Vimeo.
I asked my mum what she thought about our opening sequence, she gave us some really good points that if we made our film again we would definitely consider adding. She made a good point about the quality of equipment, we couldn't really help this but i will definitely use a HD camera for my Year 13 project next year.

Our Script
I have created this script to help us with our filming, doing this has prevented mistakes from happening which would consequently make our film less beleivable and ruin the fantasy of it. This script has also helped our actors successfully do their part withiout any mistakes, this also helps our film remain realistic and convincing. If we didnt do this script our film would consequently be a disaster becuase no one would know what to do and all the actor would get annoyed at us for wasting their time and probably wouldnt act for us again. I am really glad that we made this script becuase it has helped us so much, it was a really good use of our time.

Props used in Film Opening
There were not that many props used in our film, but all the props that were used we made sure they fitted with the codes and conventions of our genre. These props had to be stereotypical for the our characters to make our opening sequence more believable, the props included cans of alcohol and drugs. These props solidify the point that we are trying to make that these characters are from a poor background and that they are involved in small time criminal activity.
In our film it will show a few of the characters smoking marijuana and also them dealing drugs (cocaine), this puts the viewer on the edge because these things are illegal. It is important that our characters take drugs or that they are somehow related to them because it is stereotypical that they are so this helps our audience relate and escape in our film.
Also in our film it will show some of the characters drinking cans of "Strongbow", we have chosen for them to do this because it is what we expect people from these gangs to do. We chose "Strongbow" because it is relatively cheap and would be the kind of alcohol they would be likely to buy/drink.
In part of our film they will travel in a small hatchback, we chose this type of car because they are cheap to buy and insure and our characters don't have much money. All the characters are also still quite young so they will be trying to spend the least amount of money they can insuring a car. This helps the audience relate to the actors on screen because they have been in the same situation.
